Yellow Warning of Typhoon

At 06:00 a.m. of September 20, National Meteorological Center continually issued yellow warning of typhoon:


At 05:00 a.m. today, the 19th super typhoon USAGI centered at the sea areas of northwest Pacific Ocean which about 625 kilometers away from southeastern Ngoluanpi of Taiwan(18.9N°, 125.9E°). The maximum wind force around its center was force 17 (60m/s) and the minimum pressure was 915 pha.


It is forecasted that USAGI will move towards west by north at the speed of 15-20 kilometers per hour with gaining intensity. It will cross Bashi Channel on September 21 and enter northeastern South China Sea.


Influenced by USAGI, in the next 24 hours since 08:00 a.m. today, the sea areas of east of Taiwan Province, and Bashi Channel will see high wind with force scale 9-11 and gust with force scale 12-13. The sea areas around Diaoyudao Island, southern East China Sea, north of Taiwan, and northeastern South China Sea will see high wind with force scale 7-9 and gust with force scale 10. Eastern Taiwan will see rainstorm with isolated severe rainstorm. (Sep. 20)
