Introduction

Automatic Weighting Solid Precipitation Observation System mainly consists of built-in container, strain weighting sensor, data processing unit, anti-wind unit, power supply system and bracket. Solid precipitation is collected in container which equipped with antifreeze agent and oil layer to avoid water evaporation. Weighting sensor outputs voltage signals which reflect dependent variable. Based on the voltage signals, the total precipitation can be calculated via data processing unit. Anti-wind unit is able to effectively reduce the influence of wind field and collect solid precipitation.

Automatic Weighting Solid Precipitation Observation System is designed as an accurate precipitation observation instrument in unmanned environment, which can store data for over half year. That makes observation result objective and continuous and improves observation quality and effectiveness. This system can be operated as either a sensor connected with automatic weather station or independent observation instrument. It adopts storage battery (12 V) which can be charged by solar energy or AC. No mechanical and removable parts design eliminates the possible common source errors. Automatic Weighting Solid Precipitation Observation System has advantages of high accuracy, excellent stability, easy installation and maintenance. It provides pulse output imitating tipping bucket rainfall sensor. Automatic Weighting Solid Precipitation Observation System has widely applied in many areas such as meteorology, environment protection, agriculture and traffic, etc.
