Introduction

CAWS1000-GWS Automatic Gradiometry Observing System, a high performance observation system, is explored for gradiometry of wind energy and relevant meteorological elements. It can be equipped with several meteorological elements sensors including wind direction, cup anemometer, strong wind sensor, ultrasonic wind sensor, temperature, humidity, and air pressure, etc. Based on the high accuracy automatic observation of meteorological elements in vertical distribution, data related to the mean atmospheric characteristics and turbulent characteristics can be acquired, in order to observe and research boundary layer energy, radiation, multi-interchange of material, damping and oscillation on different underlying. This system is modularized designed and bus-organized, and has functions of data collection, data process, data storage and data transmission. User is able to randomly select height, number of layers and meteorological elements to observe based on actual observations needs. According to the construction design standard on industrial control level, CAWS1000-GWS Automatic Gradiometry Observing System is applicable to chronically work in unmanned severe environment.
