It is reported on July 11 that the 13th International Seminar on Climate System and Climate Change (ISCS) hosted by China Meteorological Administration (CMA) and co-organized by State Administration of Foreign Experts Affairs is initiated in Chengdu University of Information Technology (CUIT).

Qin Dahe, President of ISCS and Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, delivered a speech and briefed on climate change on behalf of CMA. He points out that climate change has attracted unprecedented global attention and hopes that a growing number of young students and capable personnel can take advantage of ISCS to deepen their understanding of climate system and climate change, accumulate experience in international exchange and cooperation, and engage in the research into these topics.
Zhou Jiliu, President of CUIT, expresses that this seminar bears vital significance in improving the research level in climate system and climate change, strengthening international cooperation, and showcasing the international image and enhancing the global influence of CUIT.

Academician Qin Dahe awards distinguished professor certificate to Nancy Bertler, associate professor of Antarctic Research Centre and Patrick Sheridan, professor of NOAA's Earth System Research Laboratory. This seminar has invited 5 global prestigious scientists to deliver lectures in cryosphere climate and climate change, aerosol and climate change, climate pattern and climate change scenario, climate system observation and analysis, and climate change impacts and adaptation.

Since 2004, CMA has successfully held 12 sessions of ISCS. This year, 167 trainees from home and abroad have attended this seminar, with 153 domestic trainees and 14 international trainees. This seminar will conclude on July 22. (July 13)
