In November, 2016, CMA issued China Greenhouse Gas Bulletin. The Bulletin showed the state of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere based on Chinese and global observations before 2016.

The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) Greenhouse Gas Bulletin (2015) No. 12 released by WMO on 24 October 2016 shows that globally averaged mole fractions in atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4) and nitrous oxide (N2O) continued to hit new highs in 2015, with CO2 at 400.0 ± 0.1 ppm, CH4 at 1845 ± 2 ppb and N2O at 328.0 ± 0.1 ppb. These values constitute 144%, 256% and 121% of pre-industrial (before 1750) levels.

As analyzed from observational data at the Waliguan station in Qinghai through 2015, averaged mole fractions in atmospheric CO2, CH4 and N2O also hit new highs, registering 401.0 ± 1.0 ppm for CO2, 1897 ± 2 ppb for CH4 and 328.8 ± 0.2 ppb for N2O. As a record high since the observation was started in 1990, they are roughly equivalent to the averaged mole fractions in the northern mid-latitudes, but are slightly higher than the global averages in all these components over the same period.
