CMA activated a level three emergency response to Typhoon Khanun

At 10:00 a.m. on October 13, National Meteorological Center issued a yellow category warning of typhoon. This year’s 20th typhoon Khanun is expected to make landfall over the coastal areas ranging from Sanya, Hainan province to Zhanjiang, Guangdong province on Sunday evening or Monday morning. For this reason, China Meteorological Administration (CMA) activated a level three emergency response to Typhoon Khanun at 11:00 a.m. on October 13. It is required that the relevant institutions under CMA enter the emergency position immediately and put corresponding meteorological services in place. The potential affected areas such as Guangdong and Hainan are expected to enter the corresponding emergency state according to local realities. (Oct. 13)
