CMA mobilized all departments to brace for support for the national Spring Festival travel rush

On January 23, China Meteorological Administration (CMA) convened the video meeting of mobilizing and deploying meteorological support for national Spring Festival travel rush. Mr Yu Yong, Deputy Administrator of CMA attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

The meeting underscores the significance of meteorological support for national Spring Festival travel rush and requires that responsibilities should be clarified and set an example for following meteorological services in 2018.

According to preliminary analysis and forecast, most portions of China will experience relatively higher temperature and highly volatility. Local weather is complex, with many uncertain factors. The transportation structure has undergone adjustment and sectors like coal, electricity, and oil are exposed to heavy strains, exerting a higher demand for meteorological support.

The meeting stressed that meteorological departments at all levels should forge synergy and executed the work in terms of scientific judgement and analysis, information distribution, communication and cross-sectoral synergy, publicity and outreach, and organization and division of responsibilities.

It is informed that CMA has issued the notice on meteorological support for national Spring Festival travel rush. Meteorological departments at all levels have carried out thorough preparatory work. (Jan. 30)
