Northern China is exposed to a wide range of sand and dust weather process

From March 26 to 28, northern China was hit by a large scale of sand and dust weather process. As a result, portions of central and eastern Inner Mongolia, northern Shanxi, central and northern Hebei, Beijing, Tianjin, and Northeast China were exposed to blowing sand or floating dust. Furthermore, parts of Xilin Gol League, Inner Mongolia were battered by sand storm with minimum visibility down to less than 400 meters. The areas affected by this process of weather reached about 1.5 million square kilometers.

Today, induced by the strong wind, in some certain locations of southern Xinjiang Basin, central and western Inner Mongolia, most of Ningxia, northern Shaanxi, central and western Gansu, Qaidam Basin of Qinghai Province, blowing sand or floating dust is forecasted. What’s more, western Inner Mongolia and southern Ningxia will be exposed to sand storm. (March 29)
