On June 6, the portal of World Meteorological Centre (Beijing) undertaken by China Meteorological Administration (CMA) is launched, which marks the WMC (Beijing) has been put into operation officially. It will provide forecast and predication products and supports for global users in real time.

The website mainly uploads GRAPES forecast products (Global/Regional Assimilation and Prediction Enhanced System), ensemble forecast and BCC_CSM long-term products, FY-4A and FY-3C satellite products, realizing the online sharing of global surface and upper-air observation products of CMA.

Website address:  http://wmc-bj.nmc.cn/f (trial version)

In addition, the website also develops an international weather forecast consultation platform based on WeChat, and links to the Regional  Specialized Meteorological Centre (RSMC) undertaken by CMA, the international cooperation projects website, and other related websites.

During the 69th Session of the WMO Executive Council held in Geneva 2017, CMA was officially recognized as the WMC, marking China's meteorological service has marched into the world top rankings.

In the future, WMC (Beijing) will focus on developing the global numerical forecast technologies, a global system of China meteorological satellite, high-speed meteorological data exchange centre, global seamless forecast product system and a large regional consultation platform, to ultimately realize the vision of “global monitoring, global forecasting, and global services”.
