The 7th Cross-Strait Meteorological Forum for People's Livelihood held in Xiamen

On June 5, the 7th Cross-Strait Meteorological Forum for People's Livelihood took place in Xiamen, Fujian. Over 170 experts across the Taiwan strait in fields of meteorology, hydrology, ocean, environment, fire prevention, and civil aviation gathered together and consulted on meteorological services for cross-strait people’s livelihood and elevating capabilities of disaster prevention and mitigation. They also focus on short-range nowcasting meteorological prediction and early warning, climate projection, and numerical weather prediction technologies, related principles and analyses on disastrous weather, as well as ecological meteorological services, and disaster prevention and mitigation experience.

From 2012, this platform has played its part and scored satisfactory results. This session boasts a richer content, wider scope of exchanges, and deeper interaction, and shares the most updated meteorological and applied scientific research results. It has also transmitted advanced meteorological concepts and revolved around more targeted disaster prevention, reduction and relief measures.

This forum has also conducted cross-strait meteorological young talents gathering activity. (Jun. 13)
