NMC issues blue warning of cold wave to hit central-eastern China

Last day, Inner Mongolia, Northeast China and other parts experienced severe cold. According to the monitoring, the temperature of southern Heilongjiang, central Jilin, central Liaoning and Chifeng and Tongliao of Inner Mongolia has dropped by 12-14℃.

The lowest temperature forecast.

The National Meteorological Center continues to issue blue warning of cold wave at 6:00 a.m. on December 26.Influenced by frequent stronger cold air, the temperature of central-eastern China will drop by 6-8℃ from December 26 to 30. In central-western Inner Mongolia, central Yellow-Huaihe basin, southern Shaanxi, central-eastern Chongqing, eastern Guizhou, western South of the Yangtze River and central-western South China, the temperature will fall down 10-12℃, even exceed 14℃. The lowest temperature line of 0℃ will move towards south and reach Nanling areas on December 30 and 31. The scale 4-6 northerly winds will blow middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River while eastern and southern sea areas get scale 7-9 gale.

Gale and falling temperature forecast.

In the following three days, light rain or sleet will fall in the Yangtze-Huaihe basin, the Yangtze-Hanshui basin, southern Yellow-Huaihe basin, eastern Southwest China and South of the Yangtze River. Qinghai, Gansu and Shaanxi will get moderate snow or snowstorm.

Precipitation forecast.

In this week, central-eastern China will be hit by continuous cold air. Besides cold temperature, southern parts will experience precipitation. (Dec.26)
