Integrated observation experiment of atmospheric aerosols physicochemical properties is completed

On January 15, outfield integrated observation experiment of atmospheric aerosols physicochemical properties and meteorological factors was rounded out in Jingmen, Hubei, which lasted half a month.

During the experiment, researchers have harnessed devices like drones and mooring boats, and conducted intensive observation of atmospheric aerosols physicochemical properties and the vertical structure of meteorological factors, and formed outfield integrated observation dataset.

This experiment aims to solve the key factors resulting in the abnormal jump in atmospheric aerosols in the midstream of Yangtze River Region, the effects of hydrothermal condition in sub-basin terrains and complex underlying surface of water network on atmospheric aerosols and haze pollution change, and the effect principle of atmospheric pollutants regional transmission in China on heavy pollution in basins of Hunan and Hubei.

During the integrated observation experiment, municipal meteorological department of Jingmen has provided comprehensive meteorological support. (Jan. 18)
