NMC consulted on the impacts of cold air and typhoon Kammuri with meteorological departments of Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao

Recently, the cold air is active in China. And this year’s 28th typhoon Kammuri entered the South China Sea and has brought sustained gale weather. On December 4, the National Meteorological Center (NMC), Guangdong Provincial Meteorological Observatory, Hong Kong Observatory (HKO), and Macao Meteorological and Geophysical Bureau (SMG) conducted joint video consultation meeting, to analyze the gale and temperature drop impacts brought by the cold air and typhoon on Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Mr. Yu Yong, Deputy Administrator of China Meteorological Administration (CMA) attended the consultation.

According to the joint consultation results, the temperature in this area will reach new lows of the second half of the year. On the night of December 4, HKO released cold weather warning. And SMG released temperature drop notice.

Affected by the cold air and typhoon, from December 5, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area will be exposed to lower temperature and protracted gale. (Dec. 5)
