Mr. LI Jian appointed as Engineer-in-Chief of CMA

On January 9, China Meteorological Administration (CMA) held a cadre conference to proclaim that Mr. LI Jian was appointed as Engineer-in-Chief of CMA.

Mr. LI Jian, born in Xinyu, Jiangxi Province in 1963, started his career as a forecaster in 1983. He graduated from Nanjing Institute of Meteorology (now known as the Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology) with a bachelor degree and later obtained a MPA degree. He also holds a technical title of Senior Engineer. He has been the Director-General of Zhejiang Provincial Meteorological Service. Since July 2016, he worked as Director-General, Department of Human Resources of CMA.

As Engineer-in-Chief of CMA, he will be in charge of organization and argumentation, coordination of major meteorological operational and technical issues; assisting in technical management of strategic research, national-level overall plans and technical management in the fields including meteorological modernization, science and technology, and major engineering projects.(Jan.10)
