Refined weather forecast for makeshift hospitals provided in Wuhan

At 10 a.m. on February 7, Wuhan Meteorological Observatory of Hubei province formally issued the first special report of meteorological services for epidemic prevention and control to the Wuhan Health Commission, providing the refined weather forecast of the next three-days for Wuhan’s 13 makeshift hospitals, Huoshenshan (Fire God Mountain) Hospital and Leishenshan(Thunder God Mountain) Hospital. The special report includes information of temperature, wind direction, precipitation, relative humidity and others. 

Since Wuhan Meteorological Service launched the first-level emergency response on January 24, the meteorological departments have actively cooperated with the local epidemic prevention and control headquarters and health departments to provide meteorological services. Up to February 7, Wuhan’s meteorological departments have issued 27 reports of weekly weather and 14 hourly special reports for Huoshenshan Hospital and Leishenshan Hospital. The timely meteorological services received the recognition by local government.

It’s reported that Wuhan is racing to create more temporary hospitals to cope with the patients infected with the coronavirus. The newly-built Leishenshan Hospital in Wuhan, epicenter of the novel coronavirus outbreak, received the first batch of patients on February 8, according to local authorities. (Feb.9)
