On May 9, the China-ASEAN Meteorological Development Index project jointly developed by the Guangxi Meteorological Service and the China Economic Information Service was officially launched. The index is planned to be released during the 17th China-ASEAN Expo in September 2020.
The Index integrates the resources of both sides to make an exponential analysis of data inmeteorological, economic and social fields, as well as the meteorological infrastructure, equipment, technological service level, capabilities of disaster prevention and mitigation, and market needs of meteorological service both in China and ASEAN countries, to deepen the exchange and cooperation of meteorological technology and services.
Through the research and implementation of the Index, Chinese meteorological departments can further grasp the needs about the meteorological service industry of ASEAN countries, effectively solve the difficult issues of supply and demand, to promote regional cooperation.
The China Meteorological Development Index Report (2017) jointly compiled and released by the China Economic Information Service and the China Meteorological Administration has drawnmuch attention at home and abroad. The project is its further extensionand practice.
From this year, the Index project will release national meteorological development index of country of honor during each China-ASEAN Expo.(May 15)
