China Meteorological Administration activated level four emergency response to address typhoon Nangka

Tropical depression in the South China Sea intensified into this year’s 16th typhoon Nangka at 8:00 a.m. on October 12. The National Meteorological Center (NMC) has released blue warning of typhoon. It is projected to make landfall n coastal regions from eastern Hainan Island to Leizhou Peninsula (23-28m/s, scale 9-10). It is required that the relevant meteorological sectors attached to CMA enter the emergency position immediately and put corresponding meteorological services in place. The potential affected areas such as Hainan, Guangdong, and Guangxi are expected to sustain or adjust the emergency state according to local realities. (Oct.12)
