On November 23, China Meteorological Administration (CMA) and the European Organisation for the Exploitation of Meteorological Satellites (EUMETSAT), and discussed in terms of matters like meteorological satellite programs, data exchange, and science cooperation. Mr. Yu Xinwen, Deputy Administrator of CMA, and Dr. Alain Ratier, Director General of EUMETSAT attended the meeting.
Yu Xinwen said that both sides have conducted fruitful exchanges and cooperation in areas like satellite data exchange and redistribution, product application, personnel exchanges, as well as training for a long term. Despite the impacts of COVID-19, the fifth technical and scientific workshop between CMA and EUMETSAT was held online and achieved expected outcomes. He hoped that both sides will initiate more in-depth cooperation in fields like high-level dialogue, satellite data exchange and redistribution, remote sensing products application, and technical exchanges.
Alain Ratier expressed that both sides boasted benign cooperative mechanism, and have played an important role in global meteorology development and anticipated that both sides could explore cooperative fields, further push for tangible cooperative results, and better serve global users.
Satellite meteorology experts from CMA and EUMETSAT respectively introduced their development programs and cooperative progresses, and carried out exchanges over items like data and product exchange, and meteorological scientific cooperation. (Nov. 30)
