Recently, CMA’s first global atmospheric/land surface reanalysis system ad products (CRA) has passed operational review.

The R&D team from National Meteorological Information Center has spent 6 years to carry out independent research and development. The team has established China’s first global atmospheric and land surface reanalysis, fully harnessed myriad kinds of observation data, and developed the reanalysis products since 1979. CRA not only encompasses data products from the past 40 years, added updated latest reanalysis products with the time efficiency of 6.5 to 9 years, to meet the demand of operational application on timeliness.

Verification assessment and comparison analysis has showed that CRA boasts rapid time efficiency and strong stability.

Global reanalysis products boast wide application in fields such as weather, climate, ocean, hydrology, geography, and ecological environment. (Dec. 22)
