CMA and BMKG cooperate to provide meteorological services for G20 Bali Summit

From November 15 to 16 the local time, the 17th Group of 20 (G20) Summit was held in Bali, Indonesia. China Meteorological Administration (CMA) and Meteorological, Climatological and Geophysical Agency (BMKG) of Indonesia cooperated on providing meteorological services. CMA activated rapid scanning service of FY meteorological satellite on November 13, and provided 250-meters observation products at 1 minute interval on a real-time basis.

The bilateral meteorological cooperation between the two countries has gone way back. On November 11, CMA and BMKG communicated on monitoring product application and analysis of FY meteorological satellites on the occasion of the training workshop of the 12th Asia-Oceania Meteorological Satellite Users' Conference. Rion Salman, a forecaster of BMKG,expressed his thanks to the service team of CMA. He remarked that the products of FY meteorological satellites played an instrumental role in the meteorological service for the G20 Bali Summit.

The data of FY-4B is shared globally from June, 2022. The Geo High-speed Imager onboard FY-4B can be of assistance in terms of more continuous and precise monitoring of such as typhoon, rainstorm, and meso-scale severe weather in Asia and Pacific Region.
