Satellite monitoring of sand and dust weather in northwestern Inner Mongolia

Affected by the gale, during the daytime of April 9, sand and dust weather cropped up in northwestern Inner Mongolia. According to satellite monitoring of FY-3C and FY-3D, sand and dust was primarily distributed in regions like Alxa League and Bayannur. It took on belt shape influenced by westward wind. The visible sand and dust area observed by satellite measured about 44 thousand square kilometers. Affected by sand and dust, air quality and visibility in these regions diminished.
