In the future 3 days, hot weather in southern China will not lessen and after August 25 the heat wave may somewhat ease. This year’s 11th typhoon Bailu formed on the afternoon of August 21 and will affect Taiwan of China on August 23.

37~39℃ heatwave will grip Hunan, central-northern Jiangxi, eastern Sichuan Basin, Chongqing, and northern Guangdong. The National Meteorological Center continued to release yellow warning of heatwave this morning.

Moderate to heavy rain will batter western Sichuan Basin, with some regions exposed to rainstorm or torrential rain. Light to moderate rain or thunderstorm will pummel eastern Inner Mongolia, and Northeast China on August 22 and 23.

Rainfall process will affect eastern Northwest China, western North China, and Northwest Huanghuai Region from the night of August 22.

Typhoon Bailu is projected to move northwest direction with a mounting intensity and can reach severe tropical storm or typhoon scale (scale 10-12) and will make landfall in the eastern coastal regions of Taiwan during the daytime of August 24 and make another landfall in coastal regions of Guangdong and Fujian during the daytime of August 25.
