It is predicted by the National Meteorological Center that in the next 24 hours, central-western Yunnan, southern Sichuan, southeastern Tibet and Taiwan will experience moderate to heavy rainfall with rainstorm or downpour (100-220mm) in partial areas. Moreover, light snow or sleet will be seen in parts of northwestern Tibet, southern Qinghai and eastern Inner Mongolia.

In addition, this year’s 20th typhoon Khanun (tropical storm) made landfall in the northern coast of Luzon Island, the Philippines at 3 a.m. October 13 with the maximum wind of scale 8 (18m/s) and 995 hPa minimum pressure in the central portions. It is forecasted that Khanun will move towards west by south at the speed of 20 kilometers per hour, then into the eastern South China Sea before the noon of October and move towards west by north afterwards. It will be close to the eastern Hainan Island and the coast of western Guangdong and may make landfall over the coastal areas from Sanya, Hainan province to Zhanjiang, Guangdong province in the evening of October 15 or the morning of October 16 with scale 11-13, 30-40m/s.
