On the night of July 11, this year’s No. 8 typhoon Maria has weakened to tropical depression with continuously decreasing intensity. The National Meteorological Center ceased numbering it last night and relieved blue warning of typhoon this morning. However, affected by the remaining cloud system of typhoon Maria, northern Hunan, western Jiangxi and central-western Hubei will be exposed to heavy rainfall to rainstorm with heavy downpour battering some portions on July 12.

On July 12, there will be decreasing precipitation intensity in Sichuan, Shaanxi, Gansu and other areas. Nevertheless, the rainfall intensity of western Sichuan Basin will augment again from the night of July 13.

From July 13 to 14, North China and Northeast China are predicted to experience a wide-ranging precipitation as the large-scale rain belt will cover Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei, Liaoning and some other regions. It is forecasted that the precipitation process will be long lasting. Severe convective weather process like thunder and short-range heavy precipitation will be seen in some of the above regions as well. (July 12)
