Orange Warning of Typhoon

The National Meteorological Center continued to issue orange warning of typhoon at 6:00 a.m. on September 29.

 

At 5:00 on September 29, Typhoon Dujuan, this year's 21th typhoon, centered near 24.5 North latitude and 119.8 East longitude, about 100 miles away from southeastern Putian City, Fujian Province of southeastern China.

 

It is predicted to move to the northwest at a speed of 20 kilometers per hour with a shrinking force and make landfall on coastal Fujian on September 29 (typhoon, Category 12, 33~35 m/s). Then on the evening of the same day it will reach Jiangxi, southeastern China and rapidly be reduced to tropical depression.

 

 

Gale forecast: From 29 to 30 September, in portions of northeastern coast of the South China Sea, Bashi Channel, Taiwan Strait, eastern coast of Taiwan, most of the East China Sea, Diaoyu Island, coastal Taiwan, Fujian and Zhejiang, scale 7-8 gale is predicted. Moreover, scale 9~10 gale is to hit Taiwan Strait, southwestern East China Sea, middle and northern Fujian and southeastern Zhejiang. Furthermore, typhoon Dujuan will bring scale 11-12 gales and 13 gusts to some certain part of these areas.

 

 

Precipitation forecast: Heavy rains or storms are predicted in portions of eastern and southern Zhejiang, Fujian, northeastern Guangdong, southeastern and northern Jiangxi as well as northwestern Taiwan. Additionally, portions of east coast of Zhejiang as well as eastern and southern Fujian are exposed to heavy rainstorms (100~180mm) or extremely heavy rainstorms (250~260mm). (September 29)
