| Dr. XU Xiaofeng, a graduated from the Nanjing Institute of Meteorology (now renamed as the Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology), is a senior research fellow. Dr. XU once worked as a forecaster at the Short-range Weather Forecasting Office, Central Meteorological Observatory, CMA. |

| 1994: Deputy Director-General of the Department of Operational Development and Weather Forecasting, CMA; |
| 1998: Deputy Director-General of Department of Forecasting Services and Disaster Mitigation, CMA; |
| 2000: Director-General of Department of Observation and Telecommunication, CMA |
| 2001: Deputy Administrator and a member of the CPC Leading Group, CMA. |
| 2003: He completed his doctoral studies with PhD of Science. |
| Dr. XU was involved in the launch of the meteorological ocean navigation service under the Central Meteorological Observatory, CMA; |
| He organized the development and application of the Meteorological Information Combined Analysis and Processing System (MICAPS); |
| Dr. XU participated in software development of AWIPS for U.S meteorological modernization; |
| He got involved in the designing and management of the CMA meteorological operation modernization projects - automation of atmospheric monitoring and the new-generation weather radar network, etc. |
| Responsibilities: |
| Assisting the Administrator and the Secretary in managing administrative affairs, emergency management, operational meteorological services, CPC Party affairs, ethical standard building, etc. Specifically in charge of weather forecasts & climate predictions, public weather service system, operational & technical system restructuring, etc. |
