| Dr. Wang Shourong, Ethnicity of Han, was born in Jiangdu County, Jiangsu province in September 1950. He started his career in February 1969 and joined the Party in October 1969. Dr. WANG obtained his Ph.D degree in synoptic dynamics from the Institute of Atmospheric Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He is also senior engineer and senior research fellow in climatology. |

| 1986-1994: Deputy Director of the Research Institute of Weather Modification, CAMS and later Assistant to President of CAMS (from August 1988 to January 1991, he studied at Department of Management, Shanghai Fudan University, and received his Master degree). |
| 1994-2001: Deputy Director General of the National Climate Center (from September 1997 to May 2001, he studied at Institute of Atmospheric Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences, with PhD Degree). |
| 2001-2002: Deputy Director General and later Director General, Overall Strategic Planning and Research Office, CMA |
| June 2002: Director General and Party Secretary of Zhejiang Provincial Meteorological Bureau; |

In charge of the planned projects for the 11th Five-Year Plan period, application for major projects, IPCC-related issues, etc. |
