Tropical cyclone 0806, Fengshen, in the western North Pacific basin has intensified to typhoon strength and is currently centred over the south-east Philippines.  It is forecast to move west-north-westwards in the next 24 hours, passing through the Philippines and retaining its intensity over the next three days. The RSMC Tokyo Typhoon Centre has been monitoring the typhoon and providing guidance to the National Meteorological and Hydrological Services in the area. （June 23）
