Jilin meteorological departments organized a team of Meteorological Disaster Information Tellers. This team covered most of departments of the whole Jilin province. In recent days, Jilin Meteorological Bureau conducted dynamic management of these information tellers by using database, and purchased 12500 books about disaster prevention and mitigation, as well as carried out training for them.

The function of a meteorological disaster information teller is receiving and issuing the meteorological disaster early warning information, collecting and reporting the situation of disaster to local meteorological departments, and helping them to carry out the disaster investigation.  Meteorological Disaster Information Tellers will play a very important role in Jilin’s disaster prevention and mitigation.( Li Zongwen)
