Since this winter, the average effective precipitation in Yuncheng, Shanxi province, only is 6 mm, and the weather is unusually dry. Fire accidents occurred frequently and caused 3 people dead and a great loss of property. The situation of forest-fire prevention also is serious.

    From November to the middle of December, there were only two obvious precipitation weather processes in Yuncheng, with less than 3 mm average amount of precipitation each time and unbalanced distribution. The dry weather caused more than 160 fire accidents, averaging 4 a day and 30 % higher than that of the corresponding period in former years.  (Feng Mingli  Dec.17)
