Being invested by China Meteorological Administration and sustained by Jiangxi Development and Reform Commission, one part of the “Wind Power Field Site Selection and Support System Project”, A 105m-high wind power resources gradient observation tower has been set up in north of Shaling wind field, Xingzi county, Jiangxi province. It is the tallest anemometer tower monitoring the wind power resources on China’s land.
The “Wind Power Field Site Selection and Support System Project” was undertook by Jiangxi Research Institute of Meteorology Science. The project can promote the multilayer particular observation and evaluation of wind power in areas with complex landform. Moreover, the project can offer techniques support for exploring and utilizing wind power resource, as well as site selection of wind field.
The overall reserves of wind power resource in Jiangxi are approximately 60,000,000 kw. And technically exploitable amount is 2,300,000Kw. The first wind power project has been started. The “Wind Power Field Site Selection and Support System Project” plays a demonstration role for construction of wind power resource observing network in China.(Deng Zhihua, He Zhiming Dec.21)
