Since January 11 night, snow occurred at most of Anhui province because of the strong cold air. Up to 08:00 January 13, the maximum depth of snow reached 17 cm.

    Along with the snow, temperature of all the province dropped with over 10 ℃ and the lowest temperature reached 5 degrees below zero centigrade.

    Anhui meteorological departments issued 176 early warning signals of cold wave, snowstorm and icy road from January 11 to January 14 and about 14 million person-times received the signals.

     Up to January 13, most of expressways in Anhui were closed. The Hefei airport also be closed from 10:00 January 12 to 09:00 January 13, 9 flights were delayed and more than 1000 passengers were stranded.
     
    According to the forecast of Anhui Meteorological Observatory, light snow will occur at Anhui on January 16. All meteorological departments are keeping watch on the weather trend and ready to provide accurate meteorological information for governments decision-making and livelihood of the people.  (Jan.15)
