The first Sino-USA joint observation for sand-dust storm initiated

    The observation for Southwest China's sand-dust storm, jointly carried out by CMA, Lanzhou University Academy of Atmospheric Sciences, China Academy of Science Institute of Atmospheric Physics, USA Department of Energy Atmospheric Radiation Measurement program and Maryland University, was initiated in recent.

    The observation examination will be mainly carried out at Lanzhou University Observation Station for Semiarid Climate and Environment. There also are two mobile observation stations at Jingtai and Zhangye National Climate Observatory, which are near to the source of sand-dust. 
 
   The observation examination involved the world's most advanced observing instruments and more than 20 scientists of China and USA, trying to further learn the formation mechanism, transmission features of sand-dust storm and its impact on climate system.

     Carrying out so the large international joint experiment in our country is the first time and it will greatly promote the research on the impact of sand-dust aerosol on climate change.
