On April 25 the China-EU consultant expert workshop on the climate change opened in Beijing. The workshop was jointly held by China Meteorological Administration (CMA) and the European Union Commission delegation to China. The CMA organized the activity. The workshop was received high attention both form China and the EU, which is an important part of European Union Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso′s China visit.           
   
   The members of China National Climate Change Expert Committee and the Energy and Climate Change Consultant Team of President Jose Manuel Barroso presented the workshop. Other officials of concerned departments from both sides joined the meeting as observers. The vice minister of China Ministry of Science and Technology Liu Yan Hua attended the workshop and extended greetings on behalf of minister Wan Gang and wished the success of the workshop.    

   The workshop is the first talk of the top consultant experts of climate change between China and the European Union Commission. The experts enthusiastically discussed interesting issues such as the effect of the climate change and the adaptation, technology cooperation, capability construction and technology transfer and they exchanged opinions on future cooperation. The Chief Council of the China National Climate Change Expert Committee presented the EU delegation the CD of “Coping With the Climate Change—China Is on the Move” and gifts on Beijing Olympic Games.
