On May 8 the 2008 Qingdao International Disabled Sailboat Racing started in the Olympic Sailboat Center of Qingdao. There were 16 teams and 67 athletes from the UK, Germany, Israel, Singapore, Hongkong of China and other countries and regions. China sent a team of 6 athletes to participate in the three grades contest.

    
   The on-site meteorological service team of the Qingdao Meteorological Bureau had entered and was stationed in the center on May 6. They begin to convene the meteorological and hydrological information release meeting from today and provide on-site meteorological service for the games. It was informed that sailboat racing would start on May 11. (May 8)
