On half past 10 a.m. May 8 the Olympic flames successfully reached the top of Mt. Qomolangma. After that the vice general secretary and vice director of State Sport General Administration of China (SSGAC) came to visit the meteorological service team of the Central Meteorological Office of CMA and extended thanks to them.

   Hu said that the forecast provided by the meteorological service team was very precise, which helped a lot to the flame atop work. Hu expressed appreciation to the meteorological departments on behalf of SSGAC and said that she would pay visit to CMA to extend thanks. She also asked the meteorological on-site service team to take appreciation of SSGAC to CMA. (May 9)
