In order to satisfy the maritime meteorological forecast service demand of the social public, let the service favor more people, and further enlarge the contents of Zhoushan maritime meteorological broadcasting station in Zhejiang, Central Meteorological Observatory formally transmitted the maritime forecast to it 3 times per day on May 1, 2008 after 40-day test.
It is said in a letter from abroad that in mid-April, the writer has received the broadcast for several lasting nights, and he thought it was very stable. Although there was a little interference, he could listen to the contents clearly. From then on, the maritime forecast from Central Meteorological Observatory can directly serve for the ships on the East China Sea. This provides security guarantee for sea trips.
This maritime forecast service has been supported by the relevant departments of China Meteorological Administration. At the same time, Central Meteorological Observatory and Zhoushan maritime meteorological broadcasting station have negotiated for many times and have done a lot of preparations. Thanks for this, Central Meteorological Observatory could finish the exploitation of the maritime forecast system which provides convenience for direct forecast service for users. (May 9)
