At 5:13 p.m. May 13 the Meteorological Bureau of Sichuan province convened TV meeting, on which the meteorological departments of Deyang, Guangyuan and Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture reported the situation of earthquake relief and meteorological service. The vice director of CMA Wang Shourong attended the meeting. He asked all of the meteorological departments to do good job in organizing the earthquake rescue and relief at any cost and try best to provide high quality meteorological information to the government and the mass.        
    
   Wang first expressed sympathy and solicitude for the front staff of the meteorological departments and fully approved their good performance in disaster fighting and weather service. He conveyed five points that director Zheng Guoguang put forward on earthquake relief and meteorological service.      
   
   First, the meteorological department should do good job in weather forecast. They should try best and make use of all of the current conditions to provide the special and daily weather forecast.    
   
   Second, more attention should be placed on the heavy earthquake hit regions and the work of the disaster rescue and relief should be closely watched. They should learn better on the situation of the disaster regions and make out proper rescue plan.   
   
   Thirdly, the operation system should be quickly recovered. The concerned departments should act quickly to make problem-resolving plan and strengthen the construction of the station in order to timely offer weather information.  
   
   Forthly, the concerned departments should do good job of the operation and logistic support and ensure the basic supply of the life necessities.   
    

   Fifthly, strengthen the aid and help of nationwide to the disaster areas. All levels of meteorological departments of whole nation should extend help to the needed, which will greatly encourage them to fight the disaster.  (May 14)
