On May 15 earthquake fighting and rescue special workgroups were set up in CMA in order to fight earthquake and service disaster relief. The vice director of CMA Shen Xiaonong chaired the meeting attended by members of all groups to direct the disaster relief work.  
   
   Those special workgroups include Workgroup of Comprehensive Coordination, Workgroup of Meteorological Service, Workgroup of Disaster Information, Workgroup of Recover and Reconstruction, Workgroup of Press  and Workgroup of Safety Production. The main duty of the special groups is to provide comprehensive meteorological service for disaster relief work with focus on the service for 8 groups of the Earthquake Fighting and Rescue Headquarters of State Council. They are responsible for the collection of the information of quake-hit areas and reporting, the recover of the meteorological service operation and staff in afflicted areas, the publicity of the disaster fighting work of the meteorological departments, and the organization of safety production.
