The Meteorological Observation Center (MOC) had coordinated with Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) and the CAAC would carry 8 automatic weather stations (5 fixed and 3 portable ) assisted by MOC to earthquake-hit areas by air in afternoon of May 16. It was informed that the MOC had sent unmanned observation airplane to Sichuan and assisted 3 satellite communication telephones and transferred 2 vehicle mobile radars to help the earthquake fighting and relief work.
