At the end of May, the wheat in Shandong Province has been mature. So the agricultural machinery drivers of Shandong and other provinces have been working. Shandong provincial meteorological departments and agricultural machinery departments unit to build a short message service platform for wheat harvest. From May 31, they began to provide the agricultural machinery drivers with a package of information including meteorological report, condition of wheat, etc, for one month for free.

    This platform has fully developed its advantages and improved the efficiency of the agricultural machinery. At the same time, during the period of wheat harvest, Shandong Provincial Meteorological Observatory and Agricultural Machinery Office will also do a return visit to leaders of the relevant intermediary organizations and agricultural machinery drivers by short message so as to improve the service. Up to now, this service platform has already built a database including nearly 30 thousand agricultural machinery drivers’ telephone numbers. (June 4)
