On morning June 30 the CMA climate change leading group convened special conference for studying president Hu Jintao’ s important speech and instructions in the 16th collective study for Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee . The director of CMA Zheng Guoguang and vice directors Xu Xiaofeng and Wang Shourong attended the conference which was chaired by vice director Shen Xiaonong.      

    On the conference Zheng Guoguang conveyed the speech spirit made by president Hu Jintao. 

    He said that president Hu pointed out that China would stick to sustainable development road and strengthen the ability to cope with climate change, which was the latest and the highest demand of the party for meteorological cause. This will encourage all levels of department to double effort to study and implement in order to fulfill this requirement. The meteorological departments should promote their modern service system, technology innovation system and talented personnel construction and establish concerned mechanism and system and rule of law to cope with climate change and natural disaster.   

    Zheng pointed out that in order to better study the speech spirit made by president Hu we should connect it with the speeches that president Hu made in Gansu when he visited the front meteorological workers, the important instructions when the FY-3A meteorological satellite successfully launched and transmitted the first nephogram, the speech in conference for major principal of provinces and municipal cities and central departments and the speech in meeting of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. We should pay great attention to those speeches, grasp the spirit and implement it in work.     

    At last Zheng called for all departments and all personnel to work harder to provide better meteorological service for flood season, Beijing Olympic Games and quake-fighting and reconstruction. (June 30)
