The June rainfall of Hong Kong broke record over 100 years

    According to the news from Xinhua News Agency on June 30, by noon June 30 the rainfall collected by Hong Kong Observatory in June the year has increased to 1346.1 mm. which broke the highest record in May 1889 (1241.1 mm.).   
  
    The Hong Kong Observatory said that this had connection with the several rainstorms in June that hit Hong Kong, the active southwest air current in coastal areas of southern China and typhoon FENGSHEN. 

    It is informed that Macao is also affected by heavy rain in June. According to the data collected by the Physical Geology & Meteorological Bureau of Macao Special Administrative Region by June 29 the rainfall of June is up to 1200.8 mm. which is the highest record.  (July 1)
