31 Villages and Towns of Sichuan Suffered Excessive Storm

    It is reported by Sichuan Meteorological Observatory that from June 30 to the morning of July 1, influenced by both the upper-level low trough and warm and wet stream from the southeast, most areas of Sichuan basin suffered an obvious precipitation process. From 8 o’clock of June 30 to 7 o’clock of July 1, the precipitation of 124 villages and towns was 25 to 50mm; the precipitation of 31 ones was more than 100mm. As to the quake-hit area, the precipitation of Qingchuan was 27.8mm; Dujiangyan, 22.8mm; Mianzhu, 11.2mm; Pingwu, 17.3mm; An County, 11.6mm.

    It is predicted that from the evening of July 2 to July 4, heavy rain will hit eastern and southern Sichuan Basin and the south part of West Sichuan Plateau, some local places will even suffer rainstorm. (July 1)
