On June 30, Tibet Autonomous Regional Meteorological Bureau held a working conference to discuss the construction of the automatic weather stations (AWS) in Tibet. Just on that day, Tibet Autonomous Regional Meteorological Bureau started the construction of 5 AWS in Deqing, Yangbajing, Wumatang, Gulu and Zharen which locate along Qinghai-Tibet Railway.

    When the construction of the new AWS is finished, it will organize a meteorological monitoring net with the present weather stations along this railway. The net will provide high quality meteorological service for the ecological environment protection, the safety of railways and roads, the stockbreeding production and the development of tourism along Qinghai-Tibet Railway.

    Tibet Autonomous Regional Meteorological Bureau requires the relevant departments to finish the construction task before the end of this year. (July 4)
