    The Department of International Cooperation of CMA charges the foreign affairs of our country's meteorological service. After the World Meteorological Organization resumed the lawful seat of the China Meteorological Administration, it has closely contacted with many international or regional organizations, and has upper statues among them. CMA has established cooperation and exchange relations with the meteorological services of more than 140 countries and areas, and signed the cooperation agreements of meteorological science with more than 20 countries and areas. China also sent a number of professionals of meteorological science to study and training abroad, and introduced the advanced international technology and equipment, so that it speeds up the modernization of China's meteorological service, and shortens the gap between China and developed countries in meteorological science.

        The duty of Department of International Cooperation

        1.Carry out and implement the diplomatic guidelines and policies in meteorological service, and according to the needs of the development of our meteorological service, draw out the guidelines and policies of meteorological international cooperation and the implementations;

        2. Manage all the things concerned with the WMO (including the Economic and Social Council of Asia and Pacific/Typhoon Committee of the WMO), and manage the relative things between other international organizations (including nongovernmental ones) and our meteorological service;

        3. Manage and organize the bilateral cooperation and exchange of meteorological science and technology;

        4. Undertake the meteorological affairs related to Hongkong, Macao Special District and Taiwan;

        5. Manage the foreign affairs about intelligence introduction and training;

        6. Manage the project of aiding foreign countries and receiving aid from foreign countries in meteorological service;

        7. Manage the foreign affairs concerning the problems of the climate change of the world;

        8. Manage the foreign affairs concerning the input and the output of the equipment and professionals;

        9. Responsible for the international exchange of the China Meteorological Society;

        10. Responsible for drafting and administrating the regulations, systems, annual programs and financial affairs of international meteorological cooperation;

        11. Responsible for the inspection of the group or team which goes abroad for official affairs, reporting the result to relative administrators, giving foreign affairs training and helping to finish other relative procedures;

        12. Undertake other tasks given by the administrators.

        14.Responsible for the functioning of Office for Management of Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Equipment of CMA and the administration of equipment support units directly under CMA;

        15.Responsible for domestic coordination of activities of WMO relevant to the terms of reference of the department.
