Main missions:

First, National Meteorological Information Center is responsible for the management, maintenance, construction and service of the high performance computer system of CMA, CMA-Internet system and meteorological telecommunication system.

Second, it is responsible for the data collection, processing, archiving and management of Chinese and global environmental data; the construction and maintenance of national climate system’s database; testing and evaluating the qualities of the meteorological data, climate data and forecasting products.

Third, it is responsible for the meteorological, hydrological and global environmental data exchange with other national departments.

Fourth, it is responsible for management, maintenance and construction of National Weather Seminar, conference system and other relevant multimedia systems, E-government system and the portal website of CMA.
