Soulik landed in Taiwan and will land in Fujian again

Track forecast of severe typhoon Soulik in the next 48 hours from 5:00 am on July 13.

 

The National Meteorological Office continued to issue orange warning of typhoon in 6:00 today. The No. 7 severe typhoon “Soulik” has landed in the border of Xinbei City and Yilan County, Taiwan Province with scale 14 of maximum winds (45 meters per seconds) and 945 hPa of minimum air pressure. In 5:00 today, Soulik located about Taibei of Taiwan Province with scale 14 of maximum winds (42m/s) and 950 hPa of minimum air pressure. The radius of scale 7 wind circle was 380 kilometers and radius of scale 10 wind circle was 150 kilometers.

 

It’s forecasted Soulik will move to the northwest at the speed of 25 kilometers per hour and land in the areas of Lianjiang to Xiapu of Fujian Province in noon today.

 

Gale forecast of severe typhoon Soulik in the next 24 hours from 8:00 of July 13.

 

Influenced by Soulik, from this 8:00 to next 8:00, there will be scale 9-13 gale in eastern East China Sea, Taiwan Strait, northern and coastal areas of Taiwan, central-northern coastal areas of Fujian and southern coastal areas of Zhejiang in next 24 hours when the east sea surface of Taiwan gets scale 9-11 gale. Northern East China Sea, Bashi Channel, central-southern parts and coastal areas of Taiwan, northern coastal areas Zhejiang, Hangzhou Bay and coastal areas of Shanghai will get scale 7-9 gale. The winds of parts of Soulik’s eye passed will be scale 14.  Meanwhile, there will be rainstorm or severe rainstorm in Taiwan, most areas of Fujian, southern Zhejiang and eastern Jiangxi. Northwestern Taiwan, central and coastal areas of Fujian will get extreme downpours (250-350mm). (July 13)

Soulik is approaching coastal areas of Zhejiang and Fujian

At 6:00 am of July 12, National Meteorological Center continues to release orange warning of typhoon: This year’s No.7 severe typhoon “Soulik” was centered in Northwest Pacific which was about 570km away from east by south of Taipei, Taiwan at 5:00am of July 12 (22.7°N, 126.5°E). The maximum wind force around its center was force 15 (48m/s) and the minimum pressure was 940 hPa.

Soulik will move northwest at the speed 20km per hour and will approach the coastal area of eastern Taiwan and may land or pass northern Taiwan from after the midnight of July 12 to the morning of July 13 and move to the coastal areas of Zhejiang and Fujian. Then it will land in the coastal areas of northern Fujian to southern Zhejiang from 12:00 to evening of July 13.

 

Influenced by it, from 8:00 am of July 12 to 8:00 am of July 13, there will be force 9 to 13 gale in the sea region of east of Taiwan and northern Taiwan. In south part of East China Sea, the wind force will be 9 to 11. Southeastern Zhejiang, northeastern Fujian and Taiwan will get heavy rain to rainstorm. Central and northern Taiwan will suffer heavy rainstorm, some places extremely heavy rainstorm.

Heat wave region forecast

At 6:00 am of July 12, National Meteorological Center continues to release blue warning of heat wave: In this daytime, the temperatures of central and south parts of the Yellow-Huaihe River Valley, the temperatures of central and south parts of the Yellow-Huaihe River Valley, the Yangtze-Huaihe River Valley, the Yangtze-Han River, most places of south of the Yangtze and South China and Sichuan will be higher than 35℃. In southern Henan, most places of Anhui, western Zhejiang, central and western Fujian, most places of Jiangxi, central and eastern Hunan, western and southern Hubei and most places of Chongqing, the temperatures will be 37 to 39℃.

 

From July 12 to 13, moderate to heavy rain will hit east part of Northwest China, central and south parts of North China and central and north parts of Shandong. Some places will get rainstorm (50 to 80mm), some places heavy rainstorm (100 to 150mm).

Soulik will land in coastal areas of Zhejiang and Fujian

Soulik has been developing rapidly since it formed. It is forecasted by National Meteorological Center that “Soulik” will land in next night to the morning of July 13 or pass northern Taiwan and land in the coastal areas from northern Fujian to southern Zhejiang from 12:00 to the night of July 13. Its intensity when landing will be severe typhoon (force 14 to 15).

Influenced by it, from 12:00 of July 11 to 12:00 of July 14, the winds in south of East China Sea, northern Taiwan, coastal areas of northern Fujian and southern Zhejiang and the sea area in east of Taiwan will increase to force 11 to 14. From July 12 to 14, the precipitation of most places of Taiwan, central and northern Fujian, southern Zhejiang and eastern Jiangxi will be 100 to 200mm. Some places of northern Fujian will suffer extremely heavy rainfall (250 to 400mm).

Super typhoon Soulik to near east coast of Taiwan

The National Meteorological Center issued orange warning of typhoon in 6:00 today: At 5:00 today, super typhoon Soulik was centered sea surface of the northwest Pacific Ocean which about 1070 km away from east by south of Taibei, Taiwan Province. The maximum winds of eye was about scale 16 (52m/s) and the minimum air pressure was 935 hPa.

It's forecasted that Soulik will move to the west by north at the speed of 20km per hour and near to the eastern coastal areas of Taiwan with gaining intensity. In the night of July 12 to morning of July 13, Soulik will land in or pass these coastal areas and near the inshore areas along Zhejiang and Fujian.

From 8:00 today to next 8:00, east sea areas of Taiwan, southeastern East China Sea will see scale 8-10 even 11-14 gale. The winds of sea areas which Soulik passed will be scale 15-17. (July 11)

CMA issued orange warning of typhoon to address "Soulik"

The National Meteorological Centre has issued an orange warning of typhoon at 18:00 on July 10:

 

At 17:00 today, super typhoon Soulik was centered about 1340 km to east by south of Taipei, Taiwan province (21.6°N, 134.2°E) with maximum wind force up to scale 16 (55m/s). Its radius of wind force scale 7 and scale 10 will be 380 km and 160 km respectively.

It is forecasted to move west by north at speed of 20 km per hour to approach eastern coast of Taiwan with stable or gaining intensity.
Affected the super typhoon, the high wind in east of Taiwan and southern East China Sea will strengthen gradually. In the next 24 hours from 20:00 today, these seas will be hit by gale with force scale 8-10 and scattered gale with scale 11-14. Soulik is likely to pack up gale with maximum scale 15-16 on its path. According to the latest forecast of National Meteorological Center, this year's severe typhoon "Soulik" has intensified into super typhoon at 2:00 am of July 10. At 5:00 am of July 10, its center was in the northwestern Pacific which was about 1600 km away from east by south of Taipei of Taiwan (20.9°N, 136.5°E). The maximum wind force around its center was force 16 (55m/s) and the minimum pressure was 935 hPa.

 

It is forecasted that "Soulik" will move west by north at the speed of 20km per hour with a strengthening intensity. It will not influence the coastal area of China in the coming 24 hours.

"Soulik" has rapidly intensified into typhoon

At 8:00 am, "Soulik" has intensified into typhoon, the 1st tropical cyclone reaching the level of typhoon this year. It is in the northwestern Pacific which is about 2030km away from east by south of Taipei, Taiwan (19.5°N, 140.4°E). The maximum wind force around its center is force 12 (33m/s) and the minimum pressure is 975 hPa.

 

It is forecasted that "Soulik" will move west by north at the speed of 20 to 25km per hour with a strengthening intensity. It will not influence the coastal area of China in the coming 2 days.

"Soulik" has intensified into severe tropical storm

This year's No. 7 tropical storm "Soulik" has intensified into severe tropical storm at 2:00 am of July 9. At 5:00 am, its center was located in Northwest Pacific which was about 2060 km away from southeast of Taiwan (19.7°N, 140.7°E). The maximum wind force around its center was force 11 (30m/s) and the minimum pressure was 982hPa.

 

It is forecasted that "Soulik" will move west by north at the speed of 20km per hour with a strengthening intensity. It will not influence the coastal area of China.
