At 6:00 am of July 18, National Meteorological Center continues to release red warning for typhoon: this year’s No.9 typhoon “Rammasun” has intensified into super typhoon at 5:00. Its center was about 235km away from east by south of Wenchang, Hainan, which was 18.8°N, 112.9°E. The maximum wind force around its center was 16 (52m/s) and the minimum pressure was 935hPa.
“Rammasun” will move towards northwest at the speed of 20km per hour with a strengthening intensity. It will land on the coastal area from Qionghai of Hainan to Dianbai of Guangdong from this afternoon to tonight. Its intensity when landing will reach force 15 to 16 (50 to 55m/s). After landing, it will continue to move towards northwest and then its intensity will reduce. “Rammasun” may land again in the coastal area of Guangxi from tonight to next early morning. Then its intensity will be force 13 to 14 (38 to 45m/s).
