For meteorological disaster prevention and mitigation, China has been promoting international cooperation in meteorological early warning system co-development, joining hands with African countries for meteorological infrastructure establishment and early warning capacity enhancement.
The emphasis on global early warning has been a cornerstone of such collaboration. By equiping with meteorological facilities as well as sharing knowledge and technologies to better prepare for and respond to potential disasters, China Meteorological Administration (CMA) has contributed to improvement in meteorological disaster monitoring and early warning capacity of Meteorological Services in African countries, better safeguarding lives and property.

Comoros: China and the Comoros have jointly constructed automatic weather stations and manual observation stations, facilitating timely weather forecasts and early warnings.

Zimbabwe: with automated weather stations, satellite data reception systems, and advanced data analysis tools from China, Zimbabwe's meteorological disaster warning and prevention capabilities have been improved by approximately 60%.

Kenya: with automatic weather stations, lightning location system, and Meteorological Information Comprehensive Analysis and Processing System (MICAPS) from China, bolstering capacity to predict and respond to severe weather conditions, particularly storms and floods.

Namibia: equipped with automatic weather stations, manual observation systems, and FENGYUN-3 satellite data receiving and processing system.

Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC): Comprehensive meteorological facilities including automatic weather stations, manual observation systems, Global Positioning System (GPS) system, and various communication and analysis systems, modernizing meteorological infrastructure.

Cameroon: Cameroon's meteorological infrastructure has been upgraded with automatic weather stations, manual observation systems, Meteorological Information Comprehensive Analysis and Processing System (MICAPS), meteorological high-definition virtual studio system, and communication and analysis systems, significantly upgrading forecasting and early warning platform.

The Republic of Côte d'Ivoire: Côte d'Ivoire was equipped with a weather studio, enhancing its capacity to produce high-quality weather broadcasts.

On April 9, 2024, the first "Belt and Road" meteorological visiting scholars learned about weather forecasting at the National Meteorological Centre (NMC).
With implementation of UN Early Warning for All Initiative through facility development and sharing practices and experience in early warning, China will continue working with meteorological and hydrological services in more African countries to jointly enhance capacity in meteorological monitoring, forecasting and early warning. Through sustained partnerships and shared knowledge, China and Africa countries are forging a resilient future together.
